Halloween

Published 31st of October, 2017

As it is Halloween and the spirits of the departed are set to walk the Earth, placated only by sweets and small denomination coins, we thought it the perfect time to pay a visit to some spooky Akamas sites. So sit back and enjoy our trip to a pre-Christian Burial Ground and a spooky old mine, with not a janitor in sight.

This was the best hole we found. These tombs, I am told had three chambers, and each entrance was visible here. Somebody had used a tree trunk as a makeshift ladder, but I didn't trust it would hold my post-picnic weight, so I decided not to go down.

Excavated Tombs

I would imagine that a lot of the contents of these tombs now resides in Nicosia Museum. They are still guarded though.
