Man remanded after alleged rape

A 43-year-old man was remanded for six days on Saturday in connection with the alleged rape earlier in the week of a 32-year-old woman in Paphos.

The man was arrested after the 32-year-old reported that she was raped by two men last Monday. She told police she was out walking on December 10 when a vehicle with two men inside approached her.

Activists protest over illegal parking on pavements

Activists in old town Nicosia protested on Saturday over illegal parking on pavements.

The activists placed wheelchairs and child strollers on Nicosia pavements with placards saying “No Parking.”

They wanted to raise awareness over how parking on pavements restricts the mobility of people with disabilities.

Drunk passenger causes havoc in Paphos airport

A 64 year old British woman caused havoc in Paphos airport on Friday, according to philenews.

The woman, who had been reportedly drunk, was shouting and quarreling with other passengers in the departures hall.

Police arrested her, after previously giving her numerous warnings, which she failed to comply with.
