Moving further in to Polemi from the Olive Tree, we come to the main strip. Here you will find the BOC, numerous coffee shops, two excellent supermarkets, and the St Michael's Hospice Charity Shop. They are holding an event here on Sunday too, to coincide with the festival. To save them asking, they are more than welcome to post an image in the comments advertising their event. We are happy to support them.

The Main Square

And this is the Main Square itself. The Olive Tree is down the road to the right of the picture. The tulips are down the road in the centre left. You walk down there until you come to a little ornate well, then turn left.

On the day of the festival, this Square will be full of stalls, a stage, and above all, people! To read about last year's festival, read our blog on it.

And Here They Are!

Happily the tulips survived all the wind, hail and rain.

Early Morning Tulips

These tulips are still waking up. It was fairly early when I took these shots.

Last year, people were wandering through the surrounding fields, picking tulips that were growing in the borders. There are noticably fewer "wild" tulips this year, so please, just come to look. Don't pick any.

Polemi In Bloom

However, the focus of the festival are these beauties, safely protected in their fenced-off field.

With all the rain we have had recently, the fields may be muddy, so we recommend boots or decent walking shoes. If you haven't been to the festival before, it is a real treat, and a genuine slice of Cypriot Village Life. See you there!

Now, as you are here, I will plug a competition we are currently running. It is a virtual Easter Egg Hunt which is really fun, and you can win a €50 meal at Delhi Gate in Kato Paphos. They opened recently and are receiving rave reviews. And if you are a business, you can win three months free advertising, worth €150. If you have seen the banner ads at the top and bottom of this page, your company can be displayed there, and will be seen over 300,000 times in 3 months. Click here to play the game. You will be taken on a virtual tour of Foinikas. Have fun!

Polemi Tulip Festival 2018

This morning, Polemi was bathed in Spring sunshine, as it invited people to come and see the tulips that flourish there every year. It is an annual event, which gives a true taste of traditional Cypriot life. And as we live in Polemi ourselves, it would be rude not to cover it, wouldn't it?

Polemi Sunset

Polemi isn't known for it's sunsets, well, to us at least. They are normally the domain of the coastal areas of Paphos, and Max's house. However, this evening, the Gods smiled on us, and granted us a lovely sunset. The photos can provide a brief, fitting epilogue to our last blog, Polemi Sunrise.
