Cyprus In Pictures - January 2025
We post daily "Kalimera" and "Kalispera" pictures to Facebook on a topical theme. I thought it would be nice to give them greater exposure, so have combined them into a monthly article. The pictures here are now viewable in their original Landscape glory. So take a look at a selection of pictures we feel summarises how January has been in our corner of Cyprus.
Olympic Lagoon Resort

Hell's teeth! Where did January go? Was it really a month ago that I sent the drone up to take a look at Pachyammos Beach and the lovely Olympic Lagoon Resort? It is just behind the Triangle and in a great location.
Santa's Remnants

Hard to believe that only a few short weeks ago the whiff of Christmas was stilll in the air. The decorations actually remained until around mid-January. This is quite annoying for me, as when I go out to do my Kalimera shots I tend to do them in batches, and details like decorations put a date stamp on pictures. There is no way that I could post this as a Kalimera shot in March, is there?
Now you may ask, why not just take one every day? Well, I live in Polemi, and my main view is vineyards. A daily shot of a future grape would not be that entertaining. Also, in most years, weather is a consideration. When it rains, the drone can't fly, so I need to take pictures on nice sunny days if I can.
Sea Caves

These glorious cliffs can be found in the Sea Caves area, between Coral Bay and Cap St Georges.
Well Maintained

Let's take a look at this picture. Can you see any rubbish here, at all? No. They maintain the area really well. There are, I believe, rubbish collections every morning and evening. And people notice too. I see a lot of comments posted as a response to my pictures, saying how clean the place looks. It is an excellent advert for Paphos.
Meanwhile, In The North

Let's have a change of pace, and scene. This is Aphrodite's Secret Beach. On the left is the car park for Aphrodite's Baths. If you visit the baths and feel a bit underwhelmed, then you need to appreciate that the baths are merely the start of the experience. Go for a walk on one of the Nature Trails, and you will soon see why the area is held in such high regard by discerning visitors. The scenery is beautiful, and this little beach, below a traditional tavern, is the icing on the cake.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
