Paphos Murals

We wrote 3 blogs about the murals appearing all over Paphos this year. We still haven't shown all of them, but this one received the most favourable comments from our blog viewers. We contacted the Japanese artist who painted it, as we wanted to know what the words said. We have yet to receive a reply, so if anybody knows what it says, we are all ears.

November: New Old Paphos

Old Paphos is looking really special now. With this blog we revisited the route we originally blogged about in January, and were very pleased with what we saw.
Roller Coaster!

November also saw a new development on Fabrica Hill. What looks like a rollercoaster or monorail is in fact a new footbridge. We took the camera up for a wander.
Beyond Fabrica Hill

After the Fabrica Hill blog we received some very complimentary comments. However, some people also lamented the fact that we haven't covered the ancient theatre at the same time. Had we done so, then other people would have lamented the fact that we hadn't covered St Paul's Pillar. You can only feature so much in one blog so we break our visits down into what are hopefully manageable chunks. There is a list of most of the blog locations in the directory. So if you are planning a visit to a specific location, it is worth checking the map to see what is near.
Anyway, on this blog, we returned to Fabrica Hill, to give the Ancient Theatre the attention it deserves.
December: Old Paphos Christmas Lights

Now we turn to our most popular blog of the year, with over 5000 views in a month. This goes to show that everybody loves Christmas Lights! Though if truth be told, I think the real star of the show was the fountain.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
