To The Ski Slopes!
Once I had explored the Square I got back in the car and turned left at the roundabout. I followed the road up the mountain. Eventually it splits in two, with the left turn being for Sun Valley.
Snowscape
It's lovely visiting soon after snow, as the area is pristine and everywhere looks beautiful. Do drive carefully though. There was a lot of ice about, especially in the shade.
Sun Valley Car Park
I timed my visit just right. When I got to the little Ski Centre at Sun Valley, there were only a few cars about. By the time I left, it was full. Be careful if you park here. Make sure you park in a way that won't get you blocked in. Alternatively, use the layby just down the road.
Ski Centre
Bizarrely, I thought things had changed up here when I arrived. This ski centre looked different. I just looked at an article I wrote in 2024 though, and it is exactly the same. Indeed, I could probably have snuck some pictures from that article into this one if I was dishonest. I will stick a link to it at the end, so you can see more snow pics if you want.
I arrived quite early in the day. This is essential if you want to experience the snow without being too crowded.

It's been snowing again in Cyprus, on the Troodos Mountains. The brown and green slopes have been transformed into a beautiful winter wonderland. Hopefully there will be more to come, but I went up on the first clear day after the downfall to capture the amazing scene.

Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
