Troodos Winter Wonderland 2024
It's been snowing up in the mountains, and the Troodos is bathed in a blanket of snow. Let's take a wander through the hills, and also see what's happening at Troodos Square...
Sun Valley Ski Centre

Getting to the Troodos Mountains from Paphos is fairly straightforward. You take the motorway to Limassol and come off at the junction signposted Troodos. The road you are after is the B8. Keep on this and you will eventually get to Troodos Square. On the way up you will drive through Trimiklini. There is an Alpha Mega there which is a great place to stop for provisions. There are also loos next to it behind the Coffee Shop.
Snowboarders' Delight

I arrived at the ski slope around 9:30AM. Already the carpark was filling up. If you park here, spare a thought for other people, and don't block anybody in. Also, park with a view to being able to get out easily.
Ski School

At the resort you can get ski passes and book lessons. There is also a cafe here for snacks.

I'm not sure what this little shed structure was for, but it seemed nice enough.
Drag Lift Number 1

Once you have cleared the ski resort and the assorted sheds, the area levels out. In the distance you can see a drag lift, which never seems to be operational. There is another one which gets used to the left of this shot.
