Paphos - Polis Motorway Progress Report
It's time for another look at the new motorway works, to see how they are progressing. Since our last look they have been busy. A definite tunnel is visible and foundations for one of the bridges are well underway...
Blue Skies Over Stroumpi

They are building a new motorway between Paphos and Polis. In Phase 1, they are constructing a single-lane route that runs from the A6 motorway in Koloni up to Stroumpi. If you want a detailed outline of the route you should see the article we wrote a couple of years ago, on the Paphos to Polis Motorway.
A New Bridge

You can't yet see it from the B7, but they are building a new bridge right next to it, in the run-up to Stroumpi. At the moment they are constructing the pillars that will support it. The B7 is to the left. Just below the picture, it loops round to the garage.
Another Angle

This is the view from the other side.
One of Two

There will actually be another bridge right next to it, beyond that ridge in the centre of the picture. This will carry traffic above the B7 towards Minthis Hills.
Paradise and Hell

Drivers on the bridge will have a lovely view of the wilderness to the West of the B7 here. This area is known by the locals as Paradise and Hell. It is incredibly beautiful but hard to negotiate area, with a deep, hidden gorge and an ancient bridge. For more information, click on the link.

The Paphos to Polis Motorway - Part 1
A new motorway is coming to Paphos. It will link the existing A6 motorway to the North West coast of the island, reduce travel time, and aid congestion on the B7. That's the plan, anyway. Alternatively, it will destroy precious natural areas and be an expensive waste of money. We decided to take a look at the proposed route for ourselves, so now at least you will know exactly where the motorway will go. Possibly.

It's time for the concluding part of our look at the planned route of the new Paphos to Polis motorway. So join us as we take a bumpy trip from Minthis Hills to Stroumpi, climbing a mountain along the way to enjoy the view...
Paphos-Polis Motorway Update
It's been a few months since they started building the new motorway between Paphos and Polis. In phase one, they are constructing the first half, which runs from Paphos to Stroumbi. The other day I went to a few vantage points along the route to see how they are getting on.
Paradise and Hell
A little while ago we showed you Martiri Bridge and the delightful gorge that ran underneath it. We recently returned to the area to see why the locals call it Paradise and Hell, and had some great fun off-roading through the beautiful scenery.Good Pages To Visit

Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
