After our recent series on Old Town came to a close I thought it would be nice to take an alternate view of the area from above. We will be able to see the changes from a different perspective. I have also taken the opportunity to summarise the various Old Town films we have produced, so you can now find them all in one place.
Film: Kennedy Square Renovations - Paphos Old Town in 2024

Kennedy Square is the Centrepiece of Paphos Old Town, and it is in the process of getting an upgrade. The Old Police Station is being repurposed and turned into a museum and outdoor park. The artistic impressions that adorn the hoardings that surround the Building Site look very impressive. When the project is complete next year it will be spectacular.
In this film we walk the perimeter of the site to see how work is progressing. The good news is that the building site is a self-contained area and doesn't obstruct the flow of traffic or pedestrians.

A big new project has recently been started in Paphos Old Town, and when it is complete it will be fantastic. So come and see what they are doing to the Old Police Station at Kennedy Square...
Old Town Market To Get Shade

Up until a few years ago the Municipal Market in Old Town was covered. The roof was removed some time ago, but today the Mayor Phedon Phedonos announced that they are planning on adding shade.

Let's have a gentle flight over the Old Town of Paphos. We start with a view of the wonderful gardens of the Artisan Coffee Shop Avli tis Nefelis. From there we fly over the car park to Caffe Nero and the Old Post Office before heading up the main road that runs through the quarter. Note the murals for Chernobyl and Aphrodite's Children along the way. Then we pass over Ibrahim's Khan before heading to the mosque. We finish with a view of the market area.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
