Kennedy Square Renovations Update - September 2024

September 16th, 2024
You may recall that the Old Police Station in Kennedy Square is being renovated. It will eventually become the Paphos Historical Documentation Centre. This sounds a bit dry but it refers to the Historical Past of Paphos, rather than piles of old documents. There will also be lovely gardens and walkways. It is now September and the project isn't due to be completed until mid next year, but we thought we would let the drone give you an idea as to how they are progressing...

Film: A Walk Around Paphos Old Town - Part 1

November 7th, 2024
I fancied a nice walk arould Paphos Old Town. So I parked behind the mosque, as that is my preferred car park, and set off on my travels. In Part 1 of my adventure I head down to the Market to see what is available. Then I examine the Green Living Wall to check that it is still alive. I finish by heading down to the Ottoman Baths. As luck would have it, they were open, so I was able to have a look inside. Now you can see what they are like!

n Part 2 of our walk around Old Paphos we head up from the Ottoman Baths to Ibrahim's Khan, taking in the atmosphere along the way, including a fantastic cake shop. From there we had back to the mosque car park, trying not to be tempted by the lunchtime smells along the way.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
