Limni Crystal Hunting
Pretty!
A lot of the samples we found were distinctly average. But a lot of them were sparkly like this one. To take these pictures, I didn't photograph myself hitting hundreds of rocks until I found one with something nice. This was the only rock I picked up to photograph.
Final Treasure Shot
We didn't find anything valuable. We weren't looking for anything valuable. But I like the fact that you can go to places like these and whack a rock or two with a hammer, and find these little pockets of sparkling pleasure.
Off Topic
Once we were worn out, we headed off back to Polemi. Driving through the fields, we couldn't help but notice this rather unusual orchard.
Pistachio Nuts!
Turns out, the trees were Pistachios, with nuts on display. Ok, so botanically, they aren't nuts, as they open to disperse the edible seed. And yes I did have to look that up.
Distant Bird
We'll leave you with a shot of one of the birds of prey that stalked us as we went about our activities. There is a lot of fun to be had just exploring random bits of Cyprus, provided you don't over-exert yourself or go where you are not allowed.

We were introduced to the Crystal Hills a few years back. It was the first time we visited Polemi and we were on the hunt for geocaches. This particularly one was a near perfect example of what makes a good cache: an interesting location that we would have been unlikely to find had there not been a cache there. The only thing that let the cache down was it's size, but we won't go into that here. Instead we shall have a look at the terrain, and see why the cache was called "The Crystal Hill".Max's Androlikou Roadtrip
