Kato Paphos Part 1
Basilica of Panagia Limeniotissa
This is what the notice said, if you couldn't read it:
Three-aisled basilica of the Early Byzantine period, built in the 5th centure AD and destroyed probably during the second Arab invasion in 653AD. Excavations brought to light luxurious marble decoration and floors coevered in mosaics and opus sectile. The church was extensively damaged during the occupation of Paphos by Arab troops, when it was used for other purposes, as can be seen from the Arabic inscruptions carved on the marble columns. After the withdrawal of the Arabs, probably in the early 9th century AD, a smaller three-aisled vaulted basilica was erected on the same site, which was destroyed in 1159AD, during a severe earthquake that struck Paphos.
We're back at the castle now, where we parked the car.
Final Old Shot
There won't be any old pictures in the remaining articles in the series. This is because the rest will be covering areas that have only recently been developed.
Bodge Tour
While we were here I took a few pictures with the 360 camera. It was too late in the day really, and I wasn't that happy with the results, so I haven't converted it to a finished tour. I am sharing here though, as it will let you have a wander if you aren't able to get here.
Thanks once again to the people who shared pictures to our Paphos Chat Facebook Group, notably Tommy Nilsson and Wayne Haigh.

Let's Take a Look At Fabrica Hill
We've driven past Fabrica Hill many times over the years, and often wondered what was up there. (It's the area of land diagonally opposite The Mall, in case you didn't know). After comments and photos started appearing on the forum about the erection of a raised walkway, we decided a visit was overdue. With no expectations of what we would see when we got there, other than a vague feeling of disappointment that despite what it looked like, they weren't building a roller coaster, this is what we found.Beyond Fabrica Hill
A few weeks ago we blogged about Fabrica Hill. We went to find out about the new walkway, and to see what was on the hill. The blog was very popular, but left people chomping at the bit for more. Why didn't you feature the amphitheatre? Where will the walkway end? Why are there never any hedgehogs in your blogs? Most of these questions were asked. So the other day, we went back to find the answers. Not only that, but we also found that most elusive of creatures, an artist's impression of what the walkway will look like when it is complete. So read on to find out...Good Pages To Visit
