Cap St Georges Carnival 2026
On Valentine's Day the good people at Cap St Georges put on a carnival. Fortunately the recent rainy spell had come to an end, enabling the locals to come out and have a party as the parade trundled past. It was a great success, as our pictures will show you.
Cap St Georges
In case you were unaware, Cap St Georges is a luxury holiday resort in the Sea Caves area of Peyia. This isn't the first community event they have put on. In recent months we have reported on their Christmas Village and Carob Festival. Today though, the Carnival is coming to town.
Yada
The first two shots show the route. The parade starts on the walkway to the beachside restaurant, and loops round to the front of the resort, opposite the hotel which you can see on the left.
We were very lucky with the weather today. Friday had been atrocious, with more rain forecast. But it kept at bay, and the sun even managed to put in an appearance.
Pre Parade Posing
Before the event started some of the more elaborately dressed performers posed for photographs.
Valentines
I'm not sure what the overall theme of the carnival was (does anybody ever know) but love was certainly in the air for these ladies.
Pretty Purple
These costumes are magnificent!
