Around 2,000 animals face being left without shelter as the Paphos Animal Shelter prepares to close after nearly 40 years of operation, with volunteers launching a peaceful protest on Friday, November 14 at 10AM at Paphos District Court, to demand urgent action from authorities.
We used Paphiakos, as it was then known, when we first rescued our cats. They took them in and looked after them for a week, before we decided we couldn't live without them. And they have been with us ever since. So we fully appreciate the work they do.
You can read more about the story in the local press, but we thought it would be useful to include a map so people know exactly where the demonstration will be held.

This is a post made by one of the workers at the shelter:
Eirini Diamantopoulou is with Neophytos Neophytou and 13 others.
2000 voiceless animals trust us. Let's not betray them.
The Paphos animal shelter hosts over 2000 animals providing them with shelter food security medical coverage always with lots of love.
Unfortunately they informed us that they have to move. Move where? How? to a new space? Back on the streets? Where?
We need help and not just an eviction.
I ask you to stand by us, with us in the demonstration that will be held in favour of the well-being and safe transport of our animals.
