After my first visit to Evretou for this blog, I continued up to Trimithousa. I don't recommend this route. It was incredibly muddy in places and at one point I was convinced I was going to get stuck. Instead, drive back to Skarfos and come back that way.

Once you get to Skarfos, drive back up to the Simou road and head down to the B7. On the way you will see a signpost for Evretou Dam. That sign should say "Evretou Reservoir" as the road doesn't go anywhere near the dam. If you take the road, you will come to a lovely vista of the village itself.

You can descend that track, but I don't think it goes anywhere any more. Instead, I took the newly concreted road that skirted along the side of the reservoir towards the dam.

No Road

The far shore, between Evretou Village and the dam, is very remote and doesn't have any tracks.

Let's have one last look at Evretou before heading round towards the dam.

Evretou Dam

Ever since we explored the abandoned villages of Evretou and Trimithousa, we have been meaning to return and have a look at the rest of the reservoir. The Evretou Grave

Last time we walked around Evretou Dam, we observed a solitary grave on the opposite bank, half way up a hill. After the blog was published we were approached by somebody who keeps a log of the Turkish Cypriot Graves on the island. He hadn't a record of this one, so I promised to revisit the area and get more information...

Evretou Reservoir Is Full!

She took her time, but Evretou Reservoir is now full! On a glorious, sunny Friday morning, I took my camera out to record the moment, and Evretou didn't disappoint. It has taken me a long time to whittle down the pictures I took for this blog, but here are a selection of the best.
