There are some lovely views of the reservoir to be had from here. Our next destination is the top of that hill you can see in the distance. There is a water tower there and we can get seem more good pictures.

First though, let's enjoy a bit more of the scenery.

Distant Overspill

In the distance, you can see the overspill. It isn't quite full yet. It should be noted that if you go to the dam itself, you will not be at this overspill. The dam is slightly further around the reservoir. We will visit the overspill for another film when the reservoir is full. However, it is quite hard to get to, so I am not going just yet.

If you want to see what the overspill looks like close-up, take a look at the related blogs at the foot of the page.

Back To The B7

I was tempted to continue along the ridge to the water tower. However, previous journeys had forewarned me that the track wasn't very good. the new concrete had now been replaced by old mud. I had actually visited the water tower a couple of days ago, and from there had noted that there was only a single set of tracks coming from this direction. So I decided to retrace my steps and continue via the B7.

From a distance the road looks fine. The tricky stuff is to the right of this picture.

Evretou Dam

Ever since we explored the abandoned villages of Evretou and Trimithousa, we have been meaning to return and have a look at the rest of the reservoir. The Evretou Grave

Last time we walked around Evretou Dam, we observed a solitary grave on the opposite bank, half way up a hill. After the blog was published we were approached by somebody who keeps a log of the Turkish Cypriot Graves on the island. He hadn't a record of this one, so I promised to revisit the area and get more information...

Evretou Reservoir Is Full!

She took her time, but Evretou Reservoir is now full! On a glorious, sunny Friday morning, I took my camera out to record the moment, and Evretou didn't disappoint. It has taken me a long time to whittle down the pictures I took for this blog, but here are a selection of the best.
