The Back Wall
I'm not sure what's going on here, on the wall behind the shrines. Some of these rocks have obviously been placed there, but how long ago? Mineral deposits have covered them, like wax on an old candle.
A Makeshift Altar?
This corner of the final chamber seems to be dedicated to lighting candles. I presume the bottles contain fuel. It's odd. I've never really thought about it before, but at these shrines, you always get candles and bottles of fuel. Sometimes, the bottles are like the ones you see for sale in Jumbo. Other times they are like this; water and coke bottles recycled for another use. But what is the fuel actually used for? Surely the candles don't need it. Do pilgrims bring lamps with them, and use the fuel for that?
Little Shrine
There is something very poingnant about this little shrine. I hope whoever left it has found some sort of peace.
The Way Back
Now we must retrace our steps.
BBC Special Effects
Years ago when I was a kid, I remember getting spooked by an old Dr Who series "Dr Who and the Green Death". When I remember it, I visualise special effects that looked something like this. However, I recently had the misfortune of watching it again, and the actual special effects were so astonishingly bad I am amazed they could have scared me. I've just checked, and I was only five when it first aired, so perhaps I am being too harsh on myself?

Paphos Caving
A few months ago we read a report in the papers about an interesting cave that lurked within Paphos itself, behind an old church. After a bit of investigation I found it, and did a bit of spelunking.Good Pages To Visit
