Front of the Dam
Anyway, we weren't just here to see the dam. I am in the process of compiling two new ebooks. One will be another road trip, but the other will feature abandoned villages...
Distant Reservoir
According to the PRIO database, there was one such village just below Pano Panagia. So today we went looking for Mamountali.
Never get tired of that view though.
Lovely Countryside
According to Google Maps, Mamountali lies to the west of Pano Panagia, and south of Asprogia. We approached through Asprogia, and were immediately struck by how beautiful the scenery was.
Water Feature
We found this water feature, which was actually fairly modern.

Ezousa Washout
On our numerous visits to the dam over the last few days, we have also taken the opportunity to explore the countryside between the Asprokremmos and Polemi. How had the rains affected the Ezousa Valley? Was one of our hidden picnic areas still intact? Could I even get from Ezousa to Kallepia, like I had done on a previous blog? From Ezousa Valley To The Sea (almost)
The river Ezousa has carved a beautiful valley out of the lowlands to the east of Paphos. We return to Episkopi to see if it is possible to follow it to the sea in our trusty 4x4.

You could be forgiven for thinking that the Ezousa Valley runs from the sea to Episkopi Village. But it continues through Letymbou all the way up to Kannaviou. And guess what? It's just as lovely up there.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
