Akamas Summer Drive
Lara Bay Closeup

From the former ruins of the shack you could get a better view of Lara Bay. It looks like there is a bit of surf there at the moment.

Interesting Rocks

The Akamas has a lot of semi-interesting rocks. In some parts of Cyprus, you can find rocks lined with crystals that sparkle like diamonds. If you are lucky there will be a nice vein of them running through a rock of sufficient size to be easily moved. The rocks you see here look, from a distance as if they may contain such crystals. However, on closer inspection they unfortunately don't deliver. There are similar rocks near Foinikas. The worst forms of psuedo-crystals though, can be found near Roudia Bridge. Some of these look spectacular, but are impossible to move, as they just crumble when touched leaving behind what looks like a pile of troll's teeth.
Multi Dimensional Butterfly

This butterfly (this is another Alex page) looks like it has dropped down from a higher dimension. It has wings that run at right-angles to each other. It looks like a very elaborate paper aeroplane.
Caught In A Trap?

That thistle has a lot of cobwebs on it. You can see there are in fact two insects caught in its snare. The second one lies in a crumpled heap, waiting to be devoured.
Goat Skull

This is now in our back garden. The kittens aren't sure what to make of it.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
