From White River Beach to Arodes
Barren Desert
At this time of year, the vegetation is looking a bit sorry for itself. In a few months time this will be an array of greens and lots of colour though, as the winter rains resuscitate the spring flowers and grasses.
Further Up
The route from White River up this track should only be attempted in a decent 4x4, ATV or motorbike. Believe it or not, a motorbike passed us as we were taking this shot.
Even in a 4x4, you should ensure you have a spare tyre and the means to change a wheel. Over the years we have had two punctures driving this route, and it is not much fun having to change a tyre in the hot sun. However, it would have been far worse were we unable to do so.
New Sign
There is now a nature trail up here! We will have to investigate that at a later date. I wonder if it is part of the plan to make the Akamas more accessible?
New Picnic Bench
This was new too, and near the sign. It's a great spot for a picnic. However, if you laid your food out, and half a dozen ATVs drove past, your sandwiches would get a bit gritty...

The sun shone brightly this morning, so we took the opportunity to go for a drive on the Akamas. There's been a lot of rain, but as a result of this, the Akamas is looking gorgeous at the moment...Good Pages To Visit
