The Abandoned Village of Theletra - Part 2
Mysterious Staircase
Take care when you are climbing down. You aren't going to fall off any cliff but some of the rocks are wobbly and you could sprain an ankle if you are not careful. Also, be on the lookout for snakes. I didn't see any on my visits, but if you are scrambling over rocks and get startled by a snake you could easily hurt yourself.
Comfy View
At some point in the past somebody had put this seat there to enjoy the view. Random chairs in the countryside are not unusual. Often they are put there by goat herders, so they have a place to rest in the shade while they tend their livestock. I don't think that is the case here though, as the goats don't come here.
Multiple Layers
In part 1 we showed how the roof of one house would become the garden or walkway of the one above it. You can see that more clearly on this side of the village. We shall go up that staircase and see what is up top.
Recent Dwelling?
First though, let's have a quick look in the room to the left of the staircase. It looks like somebody has lived in it more recently than the 70s. Perhaps hunters used it?
Upstairs
The reason I wanted to look in that room was because I thought I would soon be standing on its roof. Sure enough, once I had climbed the steps and hoisted my way up, here I was. See how the roof is also a pavement? There is an old garden to the right, and another room to the left. In front of that room, somebody has spelled out the initials "BML" with bricks. I have no idea why, but they must have put a bit of effort into it. They are to be commended for at least not simply spraying the initials in big letters on the wall here.
