Return To Coral Bay Strip
Earlier in the year Coral Bay Strip was renovated. Now that the dust has settled, and been washed away in the recent storms, we thought it about time we paid it another visit to see how it was settling in to its new look...
Scrubs Up Well!

This is what Coral Bay Strip looks like after getting washed down by two weekends worth of storms. The Zebra Crossings are very visible and the planted trees are beginning to flourish.
Cali Resort And Spa

Before we take a closer look, it would be rude not to acknowledge how nice the newly-renovated Cali Resort and Spa looks now. There has been some debate as to the land to the right of it in the picture. I had assumed that it was part of the hotel, as it was when it was the Crown Resorts Horizon. However, somebody posted a comment saying that they didn't actually own this land. Well if they don't who does, and what is to become of it? Also, why did they build a staircase by the pool leading down to it, if it isn't theirs?
Hit The Cobbles

But this article isn't about Cali Resort, it is about Coral Bay Strip. So let's get back on track. Incidentally, if you are thinking of visiting on the strength of this article, please bear in mind that between Friday and Sunday this week it is closed to vehicular traffic for some maintenance. There was an announcement to this effect on the Akamas Municipality Facebook Page yesterday (the 20th).
Dolce Vita

Anyway, let's take a wander up the Strip and soak in the scene. If you prefer films you should check out our recent vlog on Coral Bay Strip which I made the same day as I took these pictures.
I remember when this used to be King Restaurant. They did a very nice T-Bone steak and when I used to come here on holidays before moving here we would always make a point of eating here at least once. I wonder if the same staff still work here?
Upgrade Due

I noticed while I was taking my walk that the bus stops were still the same as they were in May. I mention this because at the time I was told that they were going to be upgraded when the rest of Peyia's bus stops were, later in the year. Who knows, perhaps that is why the road is closed later this week?
Please remember though that is only closed to vehicles. You will still be able to walk down it.

Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
