Parking In Paphos
A lot of parking in Paphos is free, but in some instances you have to pay, and in this article we explain how to use the online app or pay vis SMS.
Not All Parking Is Equal

Parking in most cities can be an expensive affair. Not so Paphos. Some areas, like the Sea Front Archaeological Park you see in this picture, are free. In others you need to pay.
Previously you had to rely on pay machines. Now though, each parking space has a four digit number painted on it. You can pay either using SMS or the smart parking app, which can be downloaded from the appropriate app store for Android or Apple. This article aims to show the step-by-step process of parking a car and avoiding a fine!
It should be pointed out that most of the images in this article are screen shots of a smartphone. I haven't shrunk them to be more readable on a laptop, because I figured this article would be more likely viewed from a smart phone, possibly as you struggle to find a way to pay.
Paying Via SMS

If you only have a hire car for a day or two and are unlikely to use paid parking spots more than once or twice then sending an SMS is probably the easiest route.
When you park check for the 4 digit number on the ground within the parking space. Text that number to 9191 and the cost of the parking will be added to your phone bill or deducted from your balance.
Message Received

You will receive a response, in Greek, which tells you when your parking expires and how much it has cost.
Drill Down

If you read the message you will notice at the end it shows when your parking expires and how much it costs.
Time's Up!

When your parking is due to expire you will received a text. You can renew your time by texting 9191 again.
