Paphos Seafront And Harbour Update

You can now walk safely through the roadworks.
Towards Tea For Two
I followed the footpath through the roadworks until I was headed back to the Sea Front. I thought initially that I may have to retrace my steps and follow the path in front of Paps instead, but as I approached Tea For Two I saw something that looked promising.
Ancient Bridge?
Initial reports said an ancient bridge had been uncovered. If it was a bridge, what is the wall coming out at right angles from it? I wonder how far down the structure goes, as well. One thing that is certain though, is that it is slap bang in the middle of where the pipe they are laying is supposed to go. So there is a problem...
How Old?
What amazed me is how they managed to build the road in the first place without noticing that this was below them. The top bricks are not buried very deeply. It will be interesting to see how this develops. I can understand the Archaeological Perspective, which might want to preserve it at all costs, but I can also appreciate the practical viewpoint. It is in a city already packed full of available archaeology, a lot of which has still to be recovered. Would anybody really miss anything if they just transported this bridge off-site and continued with their road repair?
Back To The Front
Anyway, that's enough of a diversion. Let's get back to the Sea Front. You can now get Bubble Tea on the sea front. Our daughter likes bubble tea. I have to confess to not seeing what the fuss is about. It might be a generational thing. Whatever. Anyway, you can now get it here.

It's all gone a bit critical down at Paphos Seafront. The shopfronts have had a lot of their frontages removed and it is currently in a bit of a pickle. What are the long term plans? Who knows, in this article we just want to survey the scene.Paphos Sea Front and Harbour
I've made a number of drone films recently of the Sea Front and Paphos Harbour. While I am filming, I also take the occasional picture, so thought it would be nice to show you some of them and add some information about how the various renovation works are progressing.Good Pages To Visit
