Paphos Old Town In 2026 - Part 1
More Art And Crafts
There is another little shop here selling Artisan Art. No idea what it is like inside though.
Gyros IzZy
The smell of food was strong now, and there are restaurants and snack bars all around. This one does very reasonable gyros (pronounced heros). I have no idea why IzZy is capitalised the way it is, but it looks kind of funky. They do have a Facebook page but it hasn't been updated in ages so I won't bother adding a link to it.
Smashing Burgers
I am not a fan of brioche buns. I prefer my hamburgers in a more traditional bap. Not a huge one, mind you, but sufficient to hold the meaty goodness without interfering with the taste. Unfortunately I am in the minority, and brioche is all the rage in burger bars these days. Another popular choice is the Smash Burger. These apparently get their taste from having a high fat content which forms a nice glaze when the burger is squashed down during cooking. I am told they are delicious, by the same people who like brioche buns. Anyway, Yoto are here, and do Smash Burgers, among other things. You can find more information on them via their Facebook Page.
Beatriz
We are skirting around the edge of Ibrahim's Khan now. Don't worry, they will be appearing in a forthcoming episode. This cafe is very popular with the locals on Sunday mornings. They are open from 10 until 10 every day bar tuesday. More info on the Beatriz Facebook Page.
Play Area
Opposite Beatriz you will find a nice new Children's Play Area. You can also see a statue of a boy playing with a hoop. This was created by renowned local artist Yiota Ioannidou.
