Paphos Museum March Update

March 25th, 2025
They are building a new museum in the city, dedicated to the Documentation of Paphos. This is a LOT more interesting than it sounds and will cover the complete history of the City of Paphos. It will also feature some amazing outdoor walking areas and gardens. The other day we went down to see how they were progressing...

Film: A Walk Around Old Town In March - Part 1

March 26th, 2025
Having whetted your appetite with our recent drive around Old Paphos, we now take in the area on foot. Starting at the Car Park below the Old Market, we walk along the front of Old Town to the mosque, then back down to the Green Living Wall. From there we head up to Ibrahim's Khan via some lovely murals, and finish near the turning for the new Bus Station.
Film: A Walk Around Old Town In March - Part 2

March 27th, 2025
In the second part of our walk around Old Paphos we say hello to some more murals and meet the owner of a Greek Restaurant. Then we head up to Kennedy Square before returning to Caffe Nero and the Ottoman Baths where we started Part 1.
Parting Thoughts

So that is most of the stuff we have produced on the Old Town. There are more films, but they are all of the driving variety and you can find them easily enough on our Youtube channel if you use the search facility.
If you visit Cyprus and want to explore Old Paphos but haven't yet got round to it, you should change that as soon as possible. It is a living, breathing part of the city, and it changes quite rapidly. The fantastic mural you see above you has since been built over. You can still see Aphrodite's head peaking out over a wall, but it will one day be turned into a boutique hotel. Nothing wrong with that. Nothing lasts forever, but if you want to actually see these wonderful features of Old Paphos, you should do it while you can!

While some attractions vanish, others step up to take their place. This advert for the Chernobyl Bar would match any of the entrants of the various Street Art Festivals held here over the years. And though a lot of it looks new, behind the doors it is still Old Paphos. Most of those businesses and workshops are still there. If you go for a walk you can hear them, beavering away, or catch a glimpse through a half-opened door. Old Paphos is still there. Thanks to the renovations, it will still be there in years to come as well!
Oh and you may have read in the article about another site we did featuring a virtual tour. You can still see that by going to OldPafos.com. It is a few years old now, but still functions, though some of the directory entries will no doubt be out of date.
We will of course be adding to this article periodically, as new content is produced. And we will also do hubs for other aspects of Paphos Life, such as the Sea Front or Abandoned Villages. Stay tuned!

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
