Cyprus In Pictures - January 2025
Unseasonal Weather

If you jumped on a plane and flew to Paphos on a whim in January, you were very lucky. It is normally the wettest month of the year but we have had very little rain in 2025.

St George's Chapel

This is another popular wedding venue in Chloraka.
Secret Cyprus

This was my favourite shot of the month. I flew the drone over the remote hills between Kathikas and Peyia, and found this intriguing ridge. At some point I need to explore this area on foot.

I really milked Agios Georgios for photo opportunities in January. In this shot you can see Yeronissos Island in the background, the church in the foreground, and the renovation work on the restaurant on the right. There is an archaeological park on the left, and you are not allowed to fly the drone there without permission. Indeed, as I flew the drone here, away from the park, I was quizzed by a Municipal worker, and was more than happy to show him my official license and permit.
Super Souvlaki

If you fancy some fastish food on your wanderings, don't go to one of the usual chains like MacDonalds or KFC. The food at places like this is MUCH, much nicer and better for you too. You won't get any stomach regret after eating here, plus it is cheaper as well.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
