Alexander The Great Hotel Tour
The Alexander The Great Hotel was recently voted the most popular hotel in Paphos in a poll we ran on our Paphos Life Facebook page. So we thought it was about time we went and had a proper look at it. We contacted Management and they gave us the Grand Tour. This article chronicles a typical day at this wonderful hotel.

Here is a view of the hotel from above, courtesy of our drone. It is situated on Poseidonos Avenue, between SODAP Beach and Paphos Sea Front.
Rear View
On the coast side, there is a lovely beach in front of it. It's official name is Vrysoudia B, but a sign next to it calls it Alexander Beach. You will find in Paphos that a lot of the beaches have more than one name.
The Main Entrance

Reception Area
On entering the hotel you will find yourself in the Reception Area. This was extremely comfortable with some gentle music playing in the background. Alexander The Great has the capacity for 400 guests, and was renovated in 2024 to ensure its facilities remain first class.
The area was nicely air-conditioned too, and would be the perfect place to relax if you wanted to escape the summer heat.

Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
