Cyprus in Pictures - June 2024
We post daily "Kalimera" and "Kalispera" pictures to Facebook on a topical theme. I thought it would be nice to give them greater exposure, so have combined them into a monthly article. The pictures here are now viewable in their original Landscape glory. So take a look at a selection of pictures we feel summarises how June has been in our corner of Cyprus.
St George's Beach Area

I think June can mainly be summed up in three words: hot summer sun. With it came the predictable fires, but on a more positive side it meant that holidaymakers had a whale of a time escaping from the colder weather of their home countries. We begin our stroll through June at St George's Beach. The avenues of palm trees are very photogenic.
Paphos Sea Front

As always the Sea Front features heavily in our Kalimera shots, due to their popularity. And when it looks like this, who can be surprised?
Didn't They Do Well?

The big story was the completion of Coral Bay Strip and its re-opening to the public. All the temporary cones you can see have now been replaced. Indeed, if you are reading this on Publication Day (2nd), keep an eye on our Youtube channel, as we will be publishing a film showing the Strip at Night tonight.
Sandy Bay

Sensibly they have moved the Life Guard Station away from the main beach and slightly to one side. This allows more room for sunbeds. Be aware though, that it is dangerous to swim here. Make sure a Life Guard is present, as the waters have claimed several people over the years.
Sea View Sunrise

This was another view of Paphos Sea Front. Later in the month the area would be awash with stalls celebrating Kataklysmos. Now though, it was quite sedate.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
