The End of the Line

The walkway will end here, as you can see by the gradually lowering supports.

So there you have it. The walkway will take you from the top of Fabrica Hill, across two roads, and put you next to the Roman Hotel.

We took this shot from the top of The Mall, when we popped in for lunch. It is clear to me that the walkway is more about getting you from A to B than showing you any ruins. But there's no harm in that. There is such a lot to see on and around Fabrica Hill, that anything that encourages visitors must surely be a good thing. And don't forget the building work we saw on the other side of the hill. The area is going places.

Now, if you look carefully at the above picture, you will see a sign.

I have no idea what the Greek says, but this is what the walkway will look like when it is complete.

It will certainly be a pleasure to walk along, but I really hope they don't allow segways!

Let's Take a Look At Fabrica Hill

We've driven past Fabrica Hill many times over the years, and often wondered what was up there. (It's the area of land diagonally opposite The Mall, in case you didn't know). After comments and photos started appearing on the forum about the erection of a raised walkway, we decided a visit was overdue. With no expectations of what we would see when we got there, other than a vague feeling of disappointment that despite what it looked like, they weren't building a roller coaster, this is what we found.
