Compare that to the doorway at the end of this alley. Already from here you can tell it is overgrown and leads to a ruin.

As I approached it, I could sense I was being watched. And sure enough, a pair of feline eyes were checking me out from a nearby garden.

I poked my head through the arch and could see that the house on the other side was in a state of total dilapidation. On another occasion I would have been tempted to explore further, but today I wanted to concentrate on the living parts of the village.

Returning to the main road, I couldn't help but notice that there was yet another archway in the side of a wall.

Clever Pigeons

I'm going to wind up Part 1 of this article now. I shall leave you with a view of some clever pigeons. They are clever because today is the penultimate day of the hunting season. Those pigeons are safe on that roof.

Originally I did separate articles on two of the churches, so I could do the rest of the village in one blog. But I found too many things to photograph, so needed to split in two still. We still have a few more roads to walk down, and a cave to locate. So stay tuned for Part 2.
