Chicken Bigfoot

Now Chicken Bigfoot is legendary. Children whisper about him in hushed tones. Parents tell their toddlers that if they misbehave, Chicken Bigfoot will squash their chocolate*. Now, this bigfoot in Geroskipou has actually had a new paintjob this year, but he looks just as formidable as last year.

* no they don't. If you ask any Cypriot about the Legend of Chicken Bigfoot, they will probably tell you to come in out of the sun and offer you a seat. However, legends do have to start somewhere...

Happy Easter From Kellogs!

The Kallepia Chickens remind me of Kellogs. They are nicely turned out, next to the phone box.

Goulou Easter Decorations

Goulou had a nice display. They also have the added benefit of having a genuine Easter Bunny.

GioLou Easter Bunny

And there he is. Admitedly, he doesn't look as cute as the couple we photographed for our Giolou Blog last year, but he's probably a bit busy at the moment hiding eggs.

Incidently, somebody on our Facebook Chat Group commented that there may have been an old railway line running between Giolou and Polis, to service a mine. If anybody has any info on this, please do let us know. Thanks

Happy Easter from Polis

The final picture comes from Polis. We loved their decorated candle and egg, and in the distance, not really visible here, there is another cute chicken emerging from the egg. Well done Polis, for having such a splendid egg.

So, before we sign off for Easter, it only remains for me to wish everybody a Happy Easter, and to remind you all that the Paphos Life Easter Egg Hunt finishes tomorrow. We have had a great response, but there is still time to enter, so go and explore the abandoned village of Foinikas using our virtual tour, and find those eggs.

Remember, there is a €50 meal at Delhi Gate, the newest Indian Restaurant in town, up for grabs. And if you are a business, you can win 3 months free banner advertising on Paphos Life, worth €150!

At first glance, I took it as a typical shrine you see fairly frequently in Cyprus. However, a second glance revealed it to be rather unusual.
