You used to be able to drive across the bottom of the dried-up reservoir to get to Evretou. We didn't even attempt that route this time though, as we knew it would already be under water. Instead, we took the Simou road from the B7, and turned left at the sign for Skarfos Bridge. When you get to the bottom of the valley there is an off-road track to your left, which is suitably signposted.

Technically this is "off road". However, it is very well maintained, and about the worst part of it is this puddle right near the start. If you can get through that, you won't have any problems further up.

However, once you reach the reservoir itself, you will find that the road runs out. I visited Evretou three times to make this blog. This was the first visit, and already part of the road is submerged. My way forwards was also blocked by a car. When I returned again (on Sunday 17th), I had to park by the road you can see in the distance, as the way was blocked by fishermen!

So I donned my hiking boots, and set off through the vegetation which was still above the water line. Almost immediately, I stumbled upon this.

In all the years I've visited Evretou, I didn't know this was here. I don't know if there are other graves here too, as the area is very overgrown at the moment and it is hard to tell. I will definitely investigate further later on in the year, when the flora has returned to it's more regular brown, and died back down again.
