Before we moved to Cyprus, we stayed in numerous hotels and villas when we came on holiday here. One of them was the Capital Coast. I remember walking from there along the coast path, which was then just a dusty track. It went past this area but there was very little sand here. In fact, the most prominent feature were the large signs warning of riptides.

They solved the riptide issue by building an artificial reef, which is just below this picture.

Now people can swim here in safety.

It is also great for sandcastles.
