Church of the Prophet Elias
As you drive to Polis on the B7, past Miliou, you will see a sign pointing to a church. If your Greek is as basic as ours, you will need Google Translate to tell you that it is the Church of the Prophet Elias. This is good to know, because you won't be able to find it on the map. When you see how small the church is, you will understand why...
To Church Prophet Elias
It's easy to miss this sign as you pootle along the B7 to Polis, so here's a picture of it. You will find it just after the Miliou turning.
Steep Hill
Be prepared if you do turn off though, as the road to the church is very steep.
Nice View
However, it is worth the trip for the views alone.
The Church Itself
And here is the church itself. Possibly the smallest church we have seen in Cyprus.
Sad Memorial
According to what I can understand from this, the church was built as a memorial to this young man, who died, aged 19, on the 1st January, 2009.
