Archimandrita
If you have ever driven up to the Troodos through the wind farms above Kouklia, you will have passed through Archimandrita. You probably drove straight through, as it is only the start of your journey. Next time, set off an hour or two earlier and allow yourself time to explore this little jewel...
The Approach

As you approach Archimandrita from Kouklia, you will come to a parking area here. There is another spot further up though, so if you want to save a bit of walking, carry on up the hill.
The Village On The Hill

Our second Road Trip will be going through Archimandrita. On the road trips I don't dwell too long on individual villages. They would just get too big if I did that. However, I've been meaning to blog about this village for over a year now, so I figured I would cover it before I got down to the road trip itself.
Ampitheatre

So, what is so special about Archimandrita then? Well, this signpost points to one of the attractions. If you are still in your car, you can follow this road. It is quite narrow, so you may want to park here instead. But lets go up and visit the Cave of 318 fathers.

Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
