From Lighthouse To Venus Beach
Careful With The Water

When you see signs like this you should take them seriously. I say this because on my walk, all the swimming areas had red flags, which means it is not safe to swim. Yet there were still people swimming in the sea. With the advent of the artificial reefs along a lot of the coast here, the death rate has decreased somewhat. However, not so long ago, the deaths in a year could easily reach double figures. And it wasn't just old or sick people. The rip tides can take anybody. If you do happen to get caught in one, the key thing to remember is not to swim against it. The best escape is to turn sideways to the shore, and wade or swim until you are out of the rip current. Then move back toward shore at an angle away from the rush of water. For more information, see this rip-tide guide.

Another Viewpoint

From this spot you can get a framed shot of one of Paphos' wrecks. That's the M/V Demetrios II.
Towards The Elysium Hotel

The walkway now takes you in front of the Elysium Hotel.
Elysium Grounds

The red flag you can see is a warning that it is not safe to swim. You can see the various colours on the sign next to it. Note that the sunbeds you can see here are all on the Elysium's grounds, and for the exclusive use of Elysium Hotel Guests.
Another Yoga Class

There was another yoga class running on the front lawn of The Elysium. I took this distant shot of it. I didn't want to get too close out of respect for the participants.
