From Lighthouse To Venus Beach
Elysium Hotel Jetty
There is a nice jetty here, as well as a very small stretch of sand.
Road Closed
Now we hit a snag. The walkway between the Elysium Hotel and Venus Beach is now closed again. What's more, the fence extends to the water, so they really don't want you walking down here. Given the amount of faint footprints I have seen in the concrete pathway so far, I can understand why.
There is another track which goes to the right of this picture, and hugs the edge of the The Elysium Grounds, so let's see if that can get us any further...
Tomb of the Kings Exit
Unfortunately not. It leads to an exit from the Tomb of the Kings, but nothing else. There is a surprisingly well-trodden path on the other side. I say surprisingly, because if I was visiting the Tomb of the Kings, I would most likely want to finish off back at the Car Park at the front.
Parting Shot
So, we were unable to show you the walkway all the way from Lighthouse to Venus Beach, but hopefully the closure won't be for long. When it is open again we shall return for another look.
And Finally...
After I took the pictures for this article (I also made a film) I headed to Geroskipou Beach for a cooling dip. On the way I did a driving film which finished at the Harbour. While I was turning around, I couldn't help but notice these objects, waiting to be installed. Unless I am very much mistaken, they are litter bins. As the Sea Front already has new ones, I can only presume that these are destined for the walkway. Time will no doubt tell...

Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
