This is the top end of SODAP beach, or Vrysoudia A, to give it its proper name. Vrysoudia means "Tap", as in bar in a brewery. That's because SODAP is the Cypriot Wine Makers Collective, and they had a Winery here, which presumably had two bars. They gave permission for some of the land to be used by the Municipality, and the two beaches are the result. I don't know the ins and outs of the exact arrangement, but that is hopefully a potted summary.

Earlier in the year it was announced that SODAP had given permission for the erection of a hotel behind SODAP beach. At the time I assumed it was the land you can see here, to the right of the car park. I thought it was a bit of a shame, as they had planted trees here recently.

If you look further to the right, you come to the Amphora Resort, and its tennis courts. The land here isn't exactly utilised to its best potential, given its prime location.

Also, for the last couple of months we had been receiving conflicting reports as to the fate of the Amphora itself. Some people said it was closed, but walking past I could see guests toing and froing.

I wouldn't say it looks particularly busy at the moment, but the pool is maintained which is usually a good sign of occupancy. They turn green quite quickly in the heat.
