Old Tree

Anyway, if you do visit that place let us know what you find! And speaking of places we haven't yet visited, we still need to explore the gorge that lurks beyond this tree. From the pictures I have seen online, it is pretty spectacular but quite inaccessible...

Distant Last Castle

From here you can see where we came from. I should point out that I was filming this as we drove, and it is now of sufficient quality that I can use stills for a blog. this means that you will also be able to enjoy the film of this route, once it has been uploaded to youtube. Don't worry though, I will still do my walkabout blogs. But it is nice to be able to provide more of a narrative to some of the more interesting film routes.

Last Castle Car Park

I'm not sure if this car park is open or closed at the moment. There were a lot of cars parked back at the start of this walk. In the past that has always been the case, as some people don't like the drive down the narrow track. However, the car park now seems devoid of cars, so who knows?

On Top Of The World

We've driven up the steep bit now, and I have to say that the road is in a lot better condition than it has been in the past.

Good Effort!

Hats off to these two. The hike up Avakas Gorge and back around the top is to be treated with respect.

The Akamas By Car

Nothing beats exploring the Akamas by car. A decent 4x4 can take you to places you would never normally find on foot, and the aircon can be a real life-saver. Pano Arodes

Pano Arodes is one of the gateways to the Akamas. It is a charming village between Kathikas and Droushia. We will be featuring it in our next eBook, so recently visited it to do some research. Naturally enough, we took lots of pictures while we were there...
