Review of 2023
As the year is drawing to a close we thought it would be nice to round it up by taking a look back through our articles and films we have published throughout 2023. Naturally the Seafront, Harbour and Walkway Renovations will feature prominently, but what else has 2023 had to offer us? Let's take a look.
The Motorway Is Coming

At the start of the year we visited the site of the new motorway that is being constructed between Paphos and (eventually) Polis. This is a big project which is still a long way from complete. This hill looks a lot different now, and tunnels and bridges are in the process of being constructed.
Ivis Maliotou Park Reopens

A common theme throughout our review of 2023 will be renovation. Case in point, the Ivis Maliotou Park. This has been transformed from a ramshackle area to a lovely, landscaped garden with a purpose-built Children's Play Area.
White River Renovations

Of course, you can't make an omelette without breaking a few eggs, and the renovation works have not been without controvercy. Nowhere is this more true than on the Akamas. The road improvements have been challenged in the courts and are currently under close scrutiny. I shan't comment further than that as the situation is fluid. Suffice to say though, that if you want to get to the Akamas at the moment, you need to take a diversion.
A New Mall

In February, the old, abandoned Mall reopened. One of the first inhabitants was Super Home Store, which moved up the road from their previous location opposite the Stadium. There was a story in that too. Prior to the move, the store in the Debenhams Building was closed down due to lack of planning permission (I think). If I remember correctly, it re-opened after an intervention from the President of the Republic himself. It finally move here, and everybody breathed a sigh of relief. The new store is very good, and there is a clothing shop in the Mall too. Over the year, a Sports Shop, Cyta and a Coffee Shop have also appeared. At some point in the future, a Lidl is supposed to arrive as well.
Akamas Geology And Paleontology Centre

As well as an improved road network, the villages of the Akamas are also getting some Tourist-specific improvements. The first to come to our attention was the new Geology Centre in Pano Arodes.
