2017 in Pictures
As the year draws to a close, we thought it would be an excellent opportunity to dip into the blog articles we have published in 2017, and bring you a selection of photos which best sum up our experiences of Paphos in the last year...

Paphos Life went live late in December, 2016. Since then, we have published nearly 100 blogs. We obviously aren't going to show you a shot from each blog, as that would run to nearly 20 pages. So we have selected 3 from each month. Each picture will have a link to the blog it came from. If you click on that link, the blog will open in a separate window.
January: Old Old Paphos

We began the year by taking a last look at the old Old Paphos. We would be returning here a few times over the year, as the improvements took a bit longer than anticipated. We think it was well worth the wait though, but more on that later.
An Old War Relic?

We also stumbled upon this strange contraption while out geocaching. Was it an old war relic?
A while after we published this blog, we were contacted by an historian from Turkey who suggested we contact the relevent museum in Cyprus, as it deserved to be kept for posterity. Unfortunately, our emails to various museums went unanswered. So if anybody knows of a suitable museum that might want to house something like this, please do get in touch, or send them a link to the blog.
Lantern Man

Of course, the big news about Paphos in 2017, was that it was the European City of Culture. When the Paphos 2017 Opening Ceremony took place, we were fortunate that Shane, a forum regular, was there to snap some pictures.
February: Down on the Ranch

At Paphos Life, we love exploring the island. We blogged about the The Abandoned Rancho Appaloosa in February. We first found it last year, when we took a round about route back from The Troodos. Since then we have been back on several occasions, and placed several geocaches there.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
