The area is by no means shut though. This kebab takeaway was still pumping the good stuff out.
Back To The Road
After my diversion I returned to the roundabout and continued up the road to Friend Bar. There is also a hotel here, called Alecos Hotel Apartments. It is a 3 star establishment which receives mainly 4 and 5 star reviews on Google, so they must be doing something right. There is a pool round back too!
Italian Beef
Moving up from friends we come to Agapinor Steak House. I wonder if this is linked to the hotel in Old Town? It certainly gets very good reviews on the various review sites, and you can find it in our directory of Paphos restaurants.
Ay. Antonios Park
There is a park here, which for some reason seems more visible when you are driving through it than walking. Or perhaps that is just me? I imagine on a hot summer evening it is very pleasant out here, though a bit noisy with all the chirruping cicadas.
First And Last Bar
Opposite the park is the First and Last Bar and Restaurant. This is another popular watering hole.

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
