Be warned as well, that if you plan on a quick five minute look you may end up staying a lot longer...

So let's head to the top left corner of the park and start there. I won't attempt to explain what the sculptures are supposed to represent. While a lot are based on mythology, and most are labelled, I think it is best to let the sculptures speak for themselves.

I should perhaps confess also, that while I did start out photographing the signs that accompany the pieces, with a view to documenting every exhibit, once I appreciated the sheer scale of the place I gave up that idea and just let the park take me where it wanted to. Occasionally I will give information on a particular piece, but really, just enjoy the photographs and plan your own visit.

From the top of the park, we shall walk towards the shelter they have erected to the right. While the park has many trails, there are two physical levels that divide it. We shall cover the top area first before descending to the main area.

Geroskipou Sculpture Park

As part of Pafo2017, a new Sculpture Park was commissioned in Geroskipou. Inspired by local history, legends and traditions, ten Cypriot and foreign sculptors have created on-site works drawing on the history of the area and, in this way, leaving behind them the traces of the European Capital of Culture. That's what the blurb says anyway. So what are they like?

Clueless Cupid

As 2018 draws to a close and the weather deteriorates (but let's face it, we need the rain) it gives me time to publish some of the blogs that I have been sitting on since the summer. The main one will be our trip to the Ayia Naps Sculpture Park. However, before we pay that a visit, I want to pop into one of Paphos' own, less well known sculpture parks. So let's say hello to Pant Man...
