Akamas Vertigo
A Long Way Down

You can't really appreciate the drop in a photograph. The first time I was here, I filmed this and posted the clip on youtube, because I was puzzled why the echos of my shouting couldn't be heard on film. If you watch that clip the drop is shown more clearly. I won't post a link to it though, as it contains a huge spoiler about the cache location.

Not That Way

Don't think I'll go back that way...
This Way Back

I climbed down this way, but it is easier getting back up if you walk to the right.
Back To The Main Road

Time to head off now.
To The Ocean

Driving down to the sea, there are some stunning views. In the distance you can see Cape Drepanum, which we featured a couple of weeks ago.
If you want to find out more about geocaching, you can visit the main website at GeoCaching.com. If you are on holiday it is worth checking out, because some of the caches are in interesting places that you wouldn't necessarily find on a tour guide. Just make sure you bring plenty of water in the summer!

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
