The Paphos to Polis Motorway - Part 2
Another Map

Now things start to get a bit tricky, for me at least. The area the motorway is travelling through here is a mix of rough land interspersed with the occasional vineyard. Some of the tracks I was driving down deteriorated rather badly, and ended in dead ends. I had to pull off a few 28 point turns in order to avoid long periods of driving up a crumbling track in reverse. Consequently, my main concern was my own safety rather than getting the best possible shot.

Lots of Arrows

This section of the route threw me. I originally expected the motorway would cross the B7 further up, and follow the base of the valley. However, the motorway will actually be above the B7, as you shall see.
Tunnel Number 2

First though, the motorway needs to get through that hill. I think the tunnel will be in the right hand side of this picture, but I could be wrong.
Tunnel Entrance

Somewhere to the right of this shot, or below it, is the tunnel entrance. Now, this track is actually significant. If you follow it, you will eventually come to one of the many dead-ends there are around here. However, it is a special dead-end.
Ta Da!

Yes, if you have ever driven up the B7 and wondered what that strange little shed was just before you get to Aphrodite's Brewery, then I can put you out of your misery. I finally made it here, after years of curious gazings.
The door you can see is locked, and there is nothing inside. Were I being mean I would have left a geocache here. I had fun getting out though, I can tell you. The turning circle on my trusty Pajero is not very good.

The Paphos to Polis Motorway - Part 1
A new motorway is coming to Paphos. It will link the existing A6 motorway to the North West coast of the island, reduce travel time, and aid congestion on the B7. That's the plan, anyway. Alternatively, it will destroy precious natural areas and be an expensive waste of money. We decided to take a look at the proposed route for ourselves, so now at least you will know exactly where the motorway will go. Possibly.
