Polemi Tulip Report
To The Tulip Field
So let's go and visit the Tulip Field. It is just up here.
Fenced Off
The tulip field was fenced off, and has been for a few years now. They had to do it to protect it from tulip thieves, believe it or not. This is now pretty much the only remaining tulip field in the area. Up until two years ago, there was another one on the way to Stroumpi. However, I think that has now been cleared. I will check again in a week or two, but certainly last year I couldn't find it.
Young Tulips
This is the bottom end of the tulip field. You can see that there is plenty of growth here, but no flowers yet.
Checking The Hedgerows
Patch and Minx were checking the hedgerows for tulips. This is often a good place to find them. Around Polemi, while the fields themselves are pretty much tulip-free thanks to modern farming methods, they can still be found flowering in the borders and between some of the vines.
Tabby's Report
Meanwhile, Tabby was checking the field on the other side of the road. No tulips there either.
