Rent A Bike
We're in one of the main car parks now. There is even one of those rentabike stands here. The bikes are ludicrously cheap to rent. I think a lot of the costs are covered by the advertising they have on the mudguards.
Old Cafe
I don't think this is open any more, but it used to be a lovely traditional Cypriot Tavern that had a nice garden to eat in.
Still Open
Next to it there is another traditional kebab joint which is well and truly open though. You won't get much better value than the food here.
Car Park View
Just so you can get your bearings, here is a view of the Car Park. The road to our right is one way. Next to it there used to be another cafe, but that is no longer present.
Renovation Casualty
That cafe used to be here. They did traditional Cypriot dishes and had some lovely murals on the walls inside. I think they were forced out of business because the renovation work took so long and they lost so much money through lost custom. A few years ago I was in the area taking pictures for my Old Paphos website and I was approached by the owner of the tavern. I think he assumed I was from the local paper. He wanted somebody to hear his story about the damage that had been done to their business. I really felt for him as I had eaten in there before and it was very nice. It was sad to see...

eBookCyprus Road Trip 01: the Kathikas - Panagia Loop
Let me take you on a journey around the region of Paphos, Cyprus. Starting at Paphos itself, we travel to Akoursos, then Kathikas, Kritou Terra and Simou. We continue past Lasa and Kannaviou, before taking in the delights of Panagia. Getting a bit more adventurous, we visit the abandoned villages of Statos and Agios Fotios, before passing through Choulou, Letymbou and Polemi, and rejoining the main Paphos - Polis road.
The route is suitable for all types of vehicle, and requires no off-roading. The guide contains about 130 photographs including shots of all the road signs you need to pay attention to, as well as some of the highlights you may experience along the way.
There are also several maps which will help you keep your bearings.
You can do this journey in a day, or you can break it up into chunks. You can also do it in reverse, to get some completely different views. It is entirely up to you.
