Old Paphos in 2021 Part 1
Seemingly Empty Streets
The pedestrianised area is very quiet. But don't let that put you off. Indeed, in these times of social distancing, this could be seen as a plus for a shopper.
Another Market Entrance
We take the first left and head towards another market entrance.
Living Wall
The restaurant by the living wall has decided not to open this morning. At least it means we get a better view of the wall. However, it will be nice when they open again.
Pop-up Tables
This is a sight that is quite common among the alleys of Old Town at the moment. Taverns and Coffee Shops are utilising the walkways to enable them to open. We are going to follow those two men down to the road, then zigzag our way through Old Town. That's the plan anyway.
Covered Market View
When this is open it gets really busy, so I can see why it remains closed for now. There are arguments for everywhere to re-open, but that would be a huge gamble until the vaccine has been fully rolled out. The latest wave of COVID is running rampant through Europe at the moment.

You could be forgiven for not knowing anything about Cementography. It is a modern, Cypriot art form, that was celebrated in the dying days of Paphos 2017 by the placement of eight murals in and around Paphos Old Town. You may well have seen some of them on your travels, and some have featured in previous blogs. However, the murals actually depict different stages in a Cypriot fairy tale, so we thought it about time we presented the murals in order, with the accompanying story attached...Good Pages To Visit
