I remember the last time I took pictures for a blog here (I have blogged about Old Paphos quite a lot, see links below). It was before the pandemic, and they were giving the place a spring-clean in advance of a visit by the President. I was impressed because I saw the Mayor of Paphos - Phedon Phedonos - helping out with the cleaning. It wasn't a photo-opportunity, and there was no press there. He just wanted the job done properly.

The mural on the left is part of a series that are located throughout Old Paphos, and relate a Cypriot fairy tale. See links at bottom for more on that.

The shop next to it is open for business. It is not alone, as you shall see.

Continuing the walk towards the road, we can see that more work is underway. This is quite fortunate, actually. I have recently added a Construction / Management section to our Business Directory. I shall be adding Xinaris Renovations to that in due course.

If you are in construction and want to be added to the directory, just contact us either by Facebook or by emailing chat@paphoslife.com

More Open Shops

Walking down the empty streets it soon becomes apparent that most of the shops are open.

Old Town Cementography

You could be forgiven for not knowing anything about Cementography. It is a modern, Cypriot art form, that was celebrated in the dying days of Paphos 2017 by the placement of eight murals in and around Paphos Old Town. You may well have seen some of them on your travels, and some have featured in previous blogs. However, the murals actually depict different stages in a Cypriot fairy tale, so we thought it about time we presented the murals in order, with the accompanying story attached...
